A brief History

As a proudly South African company, we have served the South African community for 20 years.
Foster-Melliar's progression to where it is today has taking many turns, each adding to the resilience and culture of the organisation. During the early years, Foster-Melliar provided support to Customers on the Digital VAX platform. Foster-Melliar soon established itself as a major player in IT Security and in 2001 Symantec Corporation acquired the security business of Foster-Melliar. It was at this time that ITIL was making inroads in Europe and Foster-Melliar started offering the ITIL training courses on home soil.

Foster-Melliar went from Strength to Strength in the IT Service Management arena, and quickly established itself as the dominant player in the market. Education became the passion of Foster-Melliar and as more and more training offerings were added, the natural progression from training company to Education Solutions Provider continued.

Foster-Melliar today focuses only on education and the constituent services, and has added more than 150 courses to its ever growing portfolio of offerings.

Company Structure

Foster-Melliar is made up of 3 operating divisions, each underpinning the education solutions focus of the company. The 3 divisions are; Training courses, Training administration and Venues.

The overarching structure is designed to seek solutions for some of the most common frustrations experienced by Learning and Development as well as HR departments. These frustrations can be summarised as; too much admin and paperwork, seeking and vetting training providers, dealing with SETAs for various reasons including Skills Development Levies, Workplace Skills Plans and Levy claims.

Foster-Melliar are proud to be a Level 1 B-BBEE Contributor as verified by Emex Trust (IT 4383/05) a SANAS Accredited BEE Verification Agency, No BVA 037. This means that 135% of your procurement spend with Foster-Melliar is recognised as B-BBEE spend. We also qualify as a Qualified Small Enterprise.
